The PHS Birthday Gang is coming to Maine to celebrate this year. Elaine Swanson arrived first. We had lobster rolls at Bayley's Lobster Pound, then stopped at Len Libby's 'cuz where else can you see a life-sized moose made of chocolate. But we promised not to have any fun until the rest of the gang arrived so ignore this posting Yvonne, Leslie, and Brenda. Missing you Susan, Donna, Debbie and more.

Checking out architecture in Portland. Accidentally found the Western Promenade (I didn't even know Portland had a promenade) and The Victoria Mansion.

I forgot to take a pic of the fish and chips (told you I was out of practice) but here's dessert. Sat at the exact same table as the last time I was here at The Great Lost Bear restaurant. It's still an awesome place.

Delicious breakfast with Elaine and Brenda before the rest arrive. Then exploring Portland and discovered Architectural Salvage...way too much fun. Picked up our SUV and Yvonne and Leslie and then headed off for more adventures.

Portland Head Light then Red's in Wiscassett. Lighthouses and lobsters...off to a great start on our Maine birthday party. Oh! And we stopped to see Eartha, too.

Breakfast at The Brickyard then a tour of Farmington and UMF. Lunch at Soup For You and some lessons on Airplay and iPhones. We are amazing women!

Saturday was Farmington Day! Guided walking tours (by me) of downtown Farmington and UMF. A required stop at Gifford's (I had cookie dough ice cream parfait) then back to our cabin in the woods for munchies, wine, and fabulous conversation.

Sunday we went back to the coast. Stopped at Tracy's for a very late breakfast then on to Camden for shopping and sightseeing. Stopped along the way for peeks at Maine beauty, such as Belgrade Lakes.

Karen joined us in Camden. Then we went to Owls Head Light. Arrived just in time to see a beautiful schooner.

Dinner at McLoons Lobstah Shack on Spruce Head Island. Yummy! Only Karen and I splurged on the delicious lobster still in the shell. When you order a lobster dinner, an employee walks out to the dock, pulls up the lobster cage from the ocean waters using rope and pulley, and takes it inside to be cooked. Pretty darn fresh! And delicious. White chocolate raspberry bread pudding was delicious, too.

Farewell birthday friends! We left Wilton at 7:30ish AM. Stopped for coffee in Jay and saw giant windmill parts. Dropped off Leslie and Brenda at PWM. Headed up to LL Bean. Found a fun antique store. Lunched at Five Guys (a first for both Elaine and Yvonne, but probably not their last). Returned the rent car. (The Suburban was perfect! We all fit in one car for great conversation and had plenty of room for luggage and purchases. And it was assembled in Texas!) Said one more round of goodbyes. Can't wait until next year in NYC!
